The Wearing Thin

I know, since Sunday isn’t that long.

Except, she lives the floor above me.  Same room number.  It’s literally less than 100 feet to walk downstairs to my room.

But she’s always too busy for me.  Homework and stuff.  I won’t begrudge her scholastic success, but I just want to cuddle.

The End

I am probably not going to continue posting on this anymore.

I lost my love for it.  In fact, it’s really not a comic at all, just a photoblog.  Which is why I’m ending it.

I loved reading Allan so much that I wanted to be just like Allan, but I didn’t have the drawing talent so I used what talent I did have.  But I realize that I was just trying to steal his fame, which is stupid.  I’m going to make my own.

I can work a camera and an image editor, and I can write.

I’ll update this site with any new projects I start up.  Perhaps I’ll start a photoblog BRANDED as one.  Or I’ll start something else… who knows?

But as for a comic?  Unless I learn how to draw (or I hire an artist), it ain’t happenin’.

P.S. that might be a lie… I can’t draw well but I can doodle fine.  My friend and I talked about a collaborative comic project that might smack a bit of some more primitive art styles (xkcd, left handed toons, cyanide and happiness, pictures for sad children, etc etc).  That may happen.

P.P.S. to my handful of loyal fans… I’m sorry.  Email me and I’ll make you a personal, special 760×760 apology comic.  I promise.

Love,
Drew

In case you haven’t noticed, the site’s up-to-date and will resume its daily update schedule.

Sorry that took so long!  :(

Hiatus.

I’m currently going through some tough emotional times and I’m really in need of a break.  I promise to make up a post for EVERY day I miss an update, but I’m going to be late.  Sorry…

Introducing the body and soul.

body and soul. is a concept I’m playing with.  It’s not autobiographical.  The difference is mainly in the art style and in the speaker – the speaker no longer is me telling about my day but an unnamed character with something else to say.  Hope you enjoy.  Today’s body and soul. replaces today’s post but perhaps I will be able to do 7 journal posts a week plus body and soul. irregularly.  Bear with me.

By the way, please tell your friends about my comic.  I’m trying very hard to do well but I just have no exposure. :(

Today is the 8th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

8 years ago, I was in 5th grade, and I was sitting in biology when the loudspeaker came on and our principal asked us to pray.  (Catholic school.)  I didn’t know what it was about, and within 10 minutes rumors were flying about a bus crash with several children dying, or the president dying, or some teacher dying, or something else.

A few hours later I found out what really happened.  I found out about the plane crashes.  We watched live coverage on what few televisions our classrooms had.  Then when I went home we watched more.  The radio and the television were doing 24/7 nonstop coverage, and as a child, I knew this was serious, but I was peeved that I could not listen to music or watch cartoons.

In the months that ensued, the country radio stations started playing all sorts of patriotic songs that singers made in a flash to profit off of the tragedies.  Ironic.

Many died that day, for reasons we now understand, and for some we still don’t.  What happened 8 years ago is a testament to the fact that so long as you give a man a pointed stick, he will use it to kill his neighbor.
